Phú Thọ conical hat

For a long time, "nón lá" has become a traditional symbol of Vietnamese people. It has been associated with Vietnamese like an object and its shadow, without discriminating sex, age, or social position. It is a common friend of all people. That is the reason why people have considered it as a typical icon of Vietnamese.

Conical hat "Nón lá" has been a close-knit object of Vietnamese people, so it is not surprised when every foreigner wants to take some hats coming back when ending their trips to Vietnam.

In all three regions the North, the Middle, and the South of Vietnam, there are areas that are famous for making hats and each category of hats produced in each location contains private nuance: soft, elegant hats of Huế due to lining with thin leaves; Chuông Village's hats (in Thanh Oai, Ha Tay) which are considered as the most long-wearing and beautiful in the delta area of the North. So what makes Phú Thọ conical hats different from others?
First Phu Tho is land of palm trees so the development of conical hat occupation is inevitable.

Unlike conical hats of Chuong village in Ha Tay province or Hue’s city lata-nia leaf hats, Phu Tho conical hats characterize by simplicity, harmonious lines, durableness and reasonable price. Even villagers from Chuông village's hats have to buy raw material(palm trees) from Phú Thọ
More importantly Phú Thọ conical hat specify to the regional culture.
Phu Tho is consider as ancestral land of Vietnam. Den Hung (Hung Temple)Remains is tied to the legend about 18 Kings Hung who built Van Lang State, the first one of Vietnam, with Phong Chau as the capital.

Phu Tho has bright culture. Archaeological sites like Son Vi, Dong Dau, Lang Ca and many pagodas, temples, tombs around Nghia Linh Mountain prove that Phong Chau used to be cultural center of ancient Vietnamese.
That why apart from some craft villages in Phú Thọ, a project was carried out to develop one more: Gia Thanh conical hat craft village to improve the income levels and uplift the standard of living of craft village Gia Thanh in Phù Ninh Distric, Phu Tho Province
